Tara was always destined to become an outstanding instructor and performer and was spinning, jumping and performing from an early age. An accomplished figure skater, she received her first Gold Medal at the age of 5 and was immediately captivated by an interest in movement. She studied jazz and lyrical dance and even pushed her bed up against the wall so she could sleep with her legs in straddle to increase her flexibility. Tara is nothing if not committed.
At 12, Tara was accepted into the prestigious Montreal based ballet school, L’École supérieure de ballet du Québec and by 16 was dancing in Europe at the Princess Grace Academy; Ecole de Danse Classique de Monte-Carlo. After being crowned Canadian Female Dancer of the Year, Tara performed for five years as a featured dancer and began working on aerial arts.
Returning to Canada she discovered pole fitness at a pole workshop with X-Pole Athlete & World Champion Pole Dancer, Jenyne Butterfly. Typical of Tara, she quickly devoted herself to pole and after two intense months of training entered the Canadian Pole Dance Competition.
Since then, Tara has been a force to be reckoned with on the international stage, as a PCS Champion, 1st Runner-Up & People’s Choice Winner in national and international competitions. You can see a full list of her industry awards and achievements below.
Tara is an official X-Pole Athlete, and XPERT Pole & Aerial Instructor, clothing ambassador for Artista Apparel and the proud owner of VogueFit studio.
